Car window tinting in Dubai, cool and legal
Heat rejecting films fitted to the legal limit, with clean edges, no bubbles and no fine waiting for you at the next checkpoint. Pick your darkness and film below and get a quote for exactly that.
See your car before we tint it
Darkness decides privacy and how the car looks. The film type decides how much heat stays out. Try both.
Good choice for Dubai. Ceramic at the legal limit keeps the cabin noticeably cooler without hurting night driving.

Darker isn't cooler.
A light ceramic film can keep out more heat than a dark cheap one. Darkness is about privacy and looks. The heat is stopped by what's inside the film.

Three films, three very different results
All three can be fitted at the same legal darkness. What changes is how much heat they stop, how long they last and whether they interfere with your phone and GPS.
Dyed film
BudgetA dyed layer absorbs light. It gives privacy and a dark look at the lowest cost, but it stops the least heat and can fade or turn purple after a few Dubai summers.
Carbon film
Mid rangeCarbon particles block infrared heat better than dye and keep a matte, deep black colour that does not fade. A solid upgrade for daily drivers.
Ceramic film
Best for DubaiNano ceramic particles reject the most heat and UV, even in lighter shades, with no metal to block phone, GPS or key signals. It costs more, but it's the film that makes a real difference to cabin temperature here.
What you can and can't tint
- 50%Maximum tint on side and rear windows for private cars, including rental and company cars.
- 15 cmOnly a strip across the top of the windscreen. The rest of the windscreen must stay clear.
- Dh1,500Fine for tint over the limit. In Dubai, the car can also be impounded, with a Dh10,000 release fee.
Based on UAE federal traffic rules as reported by Gulf News and updated Dubai impound rules (Gulf News, 2024). Taxis and trucks have different rules. Rules can change, so we confirm the current limit before fitting.
What a good tint job looks like up close
Cheap tint peels, bubbles and shows gaps at the edges within months. These are the parts of the job that decide whether it still looks right in five years.

The first few days
Do
- Expect a slight haze or small water spots for a few days while the film cures
- Park in the sun when you can, it helps the film dry faster
- Clean with a soft cloth and ammonia free cleaner once cured
Don't
- Roll the windows down for the first few days
- Pick at edges or press bubbles with anything sharp
- Use scrapers or rough sponges on the tinted side
Window tinting questions
What is the legal tint limit in Dubai?
Up to 50% tint is allowed on side and rear windows of private cars, including rental and company cars. On the windscreen, only a strip of about 15 cm across the top is allowed. Taxis and trucks follow different rules.
What happens if my tint is too dark?
The fine is Dh1,500 anywhere in the UAE, and in Dubai the car can be impounded with a Dh10,000 release fee. We recommend films within the legal limit so you don't have to worry about it.
Does darker tint keep the car cooler?
Not necessarily. Heat rejection depends mostly on the film type. A ceramic film at a lighter shade can keep out more heat than a dark dyed film. Darkness mainly affects privacy, glare and looks.
How long does window tinting take?
Most cars take a few hours, depending on the number of windows and how curved the rear glass is. We confirm the time when you book, and you should keep the windows up for the first few days afterwards.
How much does window tinting cost?
It depends on the car size, the number of windows and the film you choose. Send us your car and the setup you picked in the tint lab, and we'll reply with a written quote.
Will ceramic tint affect my phone or GPS?
No. Ceramic and carbon films contain no metal, so they don't interfere with phone, GPS, radio or keyless entry signals.
Can you remove old, bubbled or purple tint?
Yes. Old film and its glue are removed carefully, with extra care on rear windows so the demister lines aren't damaged, before the new film is fitted.
What else protects the car from the sun?
Paint protection film shields the paintwork, and a regular AC service keeps the cabin cool. See our PPF, car AC repair and detailing pages.
