Front upper control arms
A dry creak at low speed and over bumps comes from the front upper control arm (FUCA) ball joint. Tesla's fix is a complete new upper arm assembly.

The most common Tesla repair is not electric at all. Model 3 and Model Y front suspension arms wear out, and with a heavy battery on Dubai speed bumps they often go sooner than owners expect.
A dry creak at low speed and over bumps comes from the front upper control arm (FUCA) ball joint. Tesla's fix is a complete new upper arm assembly.
A clunk over bumps or under braking, often around 64,000 to 113,000 km, comes from torn bushings in the lower links.
We replace the worn arms in pairs and always finish with a full alignment, because worn arms are also why many Teslas chew through the inside edge of their front tyres.
Suspension patterns from au7o and the Go-Parts control arm guide. Tesla sometimes covers upper arm labour as goodwill, so near the end of warranty ask Tesla first.
An electric car is heavy and has instant torque. Add road temperatures that soar in summer, and tyres wear faster than on a petrol car of the same size. Four habits keep the cost down.
Inner edge wear on Model 3 and Y usually means camber or toe is out, often from worn arms.
Regular rotation spreads the wear. It matters more on a car this heavy.
Hot tyres read high. Set pressures cold, in the morning, to the door sticker.
Use tyres rated for the weight of an EV, not just the right size.

Two faults catch many Tesla owners by surprise. Neither involves the big battery, and both are worse in Dubai heat.
Earlier Model 3 and Model Y cars, built before Tesla moved to a lithium ion low voltage battery around 2021 to 2022, use a small lead acid 12V battery that often fails in one to two years. When it goes, the car may not unlock or wake. We test and replace it, or Tesla does under warranty.
Heat pump AC compressor failures have been reported across Model S, X, 3 and Y. In a Dubai summer, weak cooling is urgent. We diagnose the system first, and if the car is under warranty we send you to Tesla.

Older Model S and X cars are now out of their basic warranty in Dubai. These are the four faults owners raise most.
Leveling pump wear and leaking air struts cause an uneven stance and "Air suspension needs service" alerts.
The flush handles are the most complained about Model S part, usually a worn actuator or paddle gear.
The MCU1 memory chip wears out. Tesla fixes it free under its recall, so check that first.
Front control arm wear shows up as a knock over bumps, as on the smaller cars.

Working on a Tesla means knowing where the line is. We never open the high voltage system, and we always tell you when warranty or a recall covers the job.

On the Model 3 and Model Y, a creak or squeak at low speed and over bumps usually comes from the front upper control arm ball joints. Tesla's own fix is a complete new upper arm assembly. The arms are replaced in pairs, followed by an alignment.
A clunk over bumps or under braking, often between about 64,000 and 113,000 km, usually comes from torn bushings in the front lower links. Replacing the links and aligning the car fixes it.
Inner edge wear on the Model 3 and Model Y usually means the camber or toe is out, often because of worn front arms. An alignment check, and new arms if needed, stops the wear.
The small 12V battery that runs the car's systems is wearing out. On earlier Model 3 and Model Y cars with a lead acid 12V battery, it often fails within one to two years. Replace it soon, as the car may not wake or unlock when it dies.
The basic warranty is 4 years or 80,000 km, and the battery and drive unit warranty is 8 years, up to 240,000 km depending on the model. Anything covered should go to Tesla Service.
No. High voltage battery, drive unit and software work should be done by Tesla. We handle everything else, and we tell you honestly when a job belongs with Tesla.
Yes, out of warranty. Worn door handle actuators and leaking air struts or leveling pumps on the Model S and X are common jobs for us.
Yes. We check the front suspension, tyres and alignment, the 12V battery, range versus original, open recalls and remaining warranty, then send a report with photos.
Tesla front control arm repair is quoted after a lift inspection, because it depends on whether only the upper arms or both upper and lower arms need replacing, plus an alignment. Your real price comes from a free inspection and a written quote.
No. Tesla has sold and serviced its cars directly in the UAE since 2017, with no franchised dealer. Warranty, recall and high voltage work is booked with Tesla Service through the Tesla app.
Yes. A Tesla is heavy and has instant torque, and summer road heat speeds up wear. Regular rotation, pressures set cold and an alignment check, especially if the front arms are worn, keep tyre costs down.
