The Jaguar 3.0 V6 coolant pipes under the supercharger
On the 3.0 supercharged V6, the coolant crossover pipes sit in the hot valley under the supercharger. They are plastic, their seals harden with heat, and most of these engines will need them replaced during their life.
The engine itself is strong and can pass 150,000 km with good care. The pipes are the weak link, and Dubai heat cycles age them faster. Leaks often show at the O-ring seals on 2017 to 2020 cars first.
Caught early
New pipes and seals, a coolant flush with the correct coolant, and a pressure test. A planned job.
Left too long
Overheating in traffic can warp a cylinder head. The bill becomes an engine job.

The four cylinder Jaguars need their own care
The Ingenium 2.0 petrol and diesel engines power most E-Pace, XE, XF and four cylinder F-Pace cars. Two jobs come up again and again.
Water pump failure
2017 to 2023 F-Pace owners report early water pump failures. Watch for coolant loss and overheating, and replace the pump with a cooling system flush.
Oil on time, not late
Stretched oil changes speed up chain and tensioner wear. In Dubai heat and short trips, follow the time limit, not just the kilometres.
ZF 8 speed and driveline
Jaguar harsh shifts or a clunk when you pull away?
Most modern Jaguars, including the XE, XF, F-Pace, F-Type and XJ, use the ZF 8 speed automatic, while the E-Pace uses a ZF 9 speed. A harsh or slipping shift often points to the valve body or old fluid. A clunk as you accelerate or lift off on an F-Pace is often the rear differential mount bushings.
We always find the cause before we touch the gearbox. Many shift complaints are fixed with fluid, software or a reset, so you only pay for parts when parts are the real answer.
