A burning smell from the engine bay, a "Push EPB Switch" warning, a vibration when braking, or a battery that keeps going flat? We check your recalls first, find the real cause and fix it with a written quote.

Genesis at a glance
Genesis has issued several recalls and service bulletins, some of them serious. Pick your model to see what is known, what is free at the dealer, and what we fix. Then check your own VIN, as campaigns differ by market.
Early G70 and 2017 to 2020 G80: starter solenoid, ABS module and 3.3 turbo oil pipe recalls, all fire related and free at the dealer. 2021 on G80 and GV80: fuel pipe recall, GV80 seat belt recall and a rear differential bulletin. Send us your VIN on WhatsApp and we check it for you.
Recall and bulletin numbers are US NHTSA campaigns listed by au7o for the G70, G80 and GV80, checked 14 October 2026. UAE campaigns can differ, so always confirm by VIN with the dealer.

Genesis G70 and G80 cars from about 2017 to 2021 have three recalls linked to engine bay fire risk. All three are fixed free by the dealer, but only if someone checks the VIN and books it in.
Many of these cars in Dubai have changed hands and left the dealer network, so open recalls are easy to miss. Checking takes minutes. Missing it can cost the car.
Water entering the starter solenoid can short it and start a fire, and may cause starting problems.
The ABS module can short inside and cause a fire in a parked car. Watch for a burning smell or ABS warnings.
The left turbo oil feed pipe can leak oil onto the hot exhaust. Watch for smoke or a burning oil smell.
Send it to us or the dealer. It is the only way to know if your car still has an open recall.
For the fire related recalls, park away from buildings and do not ignore a burning smell.
Once the recall is done, we check for oil leaks, wiring damage and other wear.
Recall details from au7o's G80 and G70 pages, based on US NHTSA campaigns, checked 14 October 2026. Confirm your own VIN with Al-Futtaim Genesis.
Most recent Genesis cars use direct injection turbo engines. They are strong and smooth, but they have a few known habits worth watching, especially in Dubai heat and traffic.
Some 3.3T engines use oil, with blue smoke, fouled spark plugs and early low oil warnings.
Carbon builds up on the intake valves of direct injection engines, causing a rough idle, hesitation and misfires.
A check engine light and stumble after a cold start on the 2.5T has a free dealer software fix.

Outside the recalls, these are the faults Genesis owners bring us most. None of them are covered once the warranty ends, and all of them are cheaper when caught early.
The electric parking brake actuator can fail, so the brake will not release or engage. We test the actuator and wiring before replacing.
Front discs can warp, causing a pulse through the pedal and steering wheel. We measure the discs and quote pads and discs together.
A drain while parked leads to a slow crank or a dead battery, worse after heat and long parking. We find the drain, not just fit a new battery.
Condensation inside the headlights is a known complaint. We check the seals and vents first.
The head-up display can dim before failing completely. We test it and advise on repair or replacement.
Power folding mirrors can fail, the clear coat can chip easily, and the sunroof can rattle. We repair the cause and quote paint work separately.
Fault patterns from au7o's G70 and GV80 pages, checked 14 October 2026.
Al-Futtaim Motors has distributed Genesis in the UAE since 2021, with a 5 year unlimited km warranty on new cars. Many earlier Genesis cars on Dubai roads are now past their warranty, and that is where we help most.
A possible open recall, so we check the VIN and send you to the dealer first.
A wear fault, so we test and repair the parking brake actuator.
A known bulletin item still in cover, so we send you to Al-Futtaim.

How we keep Genesis bills fair: we check recalls and warranty first, so you never pay for work that is free at the dealer. We test before replacing, so a battery drain is not treated as just a dead battery. And you approve every line of the quote before work starts.
Send the model, year, mileage and VIN, or the warning you see. We check recalls first, then send a written, itemised quote.
A Genesis has a lot of electronics and turbo power, and both work harder in Dubai heat. These four checks prevent the most common summer call outs.
Heat and long parking flatten weak batteries fast. A test before summer avoids a no start.
Turbo engines need clean oil at the right level. Check it between services, above all on the 3.3T.
A clean condenser and fresh cabin filter keep a large cabin cool and spare the compressor.
Sun and sand are hard on soft clear coat. Wash and protect it, and fix chips early.

Used Genesis cars are strong value in Dubai, but open recalls and wear on the parking brake and turbo engines are easy to miss on a short test drive.

Four steps, and the recall question is always answered first.

It is a warning from the electric parking brake, often because the actuator is failing and the brake will not release or engage properly. We test the actuator and wiring before replacing anything.
Usually the front brake discs have warped. We measure the discs and quote pads and discs together, so the vibration does not come back.
The 2.5 turbo GV80 has a known cold start misfire with a free dealer software fix. If the misfire stays after the update, the coil or injector on that cylinder should be tested.
