Mechanics offers independent Lotus service and repair in Al Quoz, Dubai for the Elise, Exige, Evora and Emira, with chassis, tyre and brake care on the Eletre and Emeya. A clutch that slips in Sheikh Zayed Road traffic, a temperature needle that creeps in August or AC that gives up at idle? We find the cause first and quote in writing before any work.

Choose your Lotus and the issue. The planner shows your engine and gearbox, how urgent it is, what we check first and whether AGMC, the UAE distributor, should handle it. Then send it in one tap.
Send us your Lotus model, year and the problem on WhatsApp. We reply with how urgent it is, what we would check first and whether it belongs with us or AGMC, the official distributor.

Lotus at a glance
Underneath the light body, most Lotus cars use proven Toyota or AMG engines and Aisin gearboxes. That keeps most jobs practical. These twelve cover nearly every Lotus that reaches our Al Quoz workshop.
Correct grade oil and filter for the Toyota, AMG or K-series engine, a full code scan, fluid checks by age and an itemised invoice.
Mid engine cars run long AC pipes to a front condenser. We pressure test, find the leak and check the fans before any regas.
Misfires, leaks and head gaskets on the 2ZZ-GE, 2GR-FE and K-series. Compression and leakdown tests come before any strip down.
Harsh shifts on the IPS automatic or Emira DCT. Codes, fluid condition and a road test come before any gearbox work.
Pads, discs and fluid on light cars that brake hard. We measure wear and quote genuine and aftermarket parts side by side.
Clonks, wander or a car that no longer feels sharp. We check wishbones, toe links, ball joints and dampers on the lift.
A creeping gauge in summer traffic. We pressure test hot, check fans and the front radiator, then flush with the right coolant.
Clutch slip, a crunch into third or a vague shift. We check the clutch, synchros and gear cables before quoting.
Play, knocks or a heavy rack on unassisted early Elises. We check the rack, joints and track rods before replacing parts.
A Lotus is sensitive to geometry. After kerbing or new parts, we set it to Lotus figures to protect tyres and handling.
Lotus cars often sit for weeks in summer. We load test the battery, check for drain and fit the correct type.
Composite and fibreglass panels need different repair to steel. We repair cracks and scuffs and check lights and sensors after.
Owner clubs, buying guides and recall notices point to the same patterns on each Lotus. These are the ones that matter in Dubai heat, with the sign you will notice and what we check first.

SignCoolant loss, white deposits on the dipstick, a gauge past the mid point.

We doWe pressure test the system and quote an original or aluminium radiator side by side.
SignCold air fades within weeks of a regas, most reported on 2006 and 2007 cars.
We doWe find the leak with dye or nitrogen, repair the pipe, then regas.
SignA crunch on fast 2 to 3 shifts on supercharged cars.
We doWe check synchros, gear cables and oil, and quote a cable or gearbox repair.

A light mid engine car gives little warning before a cooling or fuel problem turns serious. Use these three levels to decide, and send us a photo of the dash if you are unsure.

Lotus builds the chassis and buys proven engines. The engine and gearbox in your car decide where we look first, which parts fit and how long a repair takes. Here is each combination and what it means.
| Engine | Gearbox | Models | What it means for you |
|---|---|---|---|
Rover K-series 1.8 | 5 speed manual | Elise S1 and early S2, Exige S1 | Light and lively, but head gaskets fail if it overheats. Cooling health comes first. |
Toyota 1ZZ-FE and 2ZZ-GE | Toyota 5 or 6 speed manual | Elise S2 and S3, Exige S2 | Chain driven and durable. The 2ZZ switches cams near 6,200 rpm. Supercharged cars need synchro checks. |
Toyota 2ZR, supercharged | Toyota 6 speed manual | Elise S3 from 2012 | Strong and simple to service. Watch clutch wear and cooling on track or traffic use. |
Toyota 2GR-FE 3.5 V6 | 6 speed manual or IPS automatic | Evora, Exige S3 | Robust V6, supercharged on S, 400 and later cars. Check oil and fuel lines and the gear cables. |
2GR-FE supercharged V6 | Aisin 6 speed manual or IPS automatic | Emira V6 | The Evora V6 family, updated. Most UAE cars are young, so warranty status decides who repairs it. |
AMG M139 2.0 turbo | AMG 8 speed dual clutch (DCT) | Emira i4 | Mercedes-AMG engine and gearbox. DCT faults start with data and software, not parts. |
Dual electric motors | Single speed, two speed rear on Eletre R | Eletre, Emeya | No oil service. Brakes, tyres and 12V with us, the high voltage system with AGMC. |

AGMC, part of Albatha Group, became the official Lotus distributor in the UAE in June 2026, with aftersales centres planned in Dubai and Abu Dhabi. Answer these four questions in order to know where your job belongs.
Is the car still under factory warranty?
Is there an open recall or campaign on the VIN?
Is it battery, charging or drive unit work on an Eletre or Emeya?
Is it servicing, wear, AC, cooling or a fault after warranty?

Distributor from DriveArabia (AGMC appointed, 29 June 2026) and EVLife (AGMC Lotus distribution, July 2026). Lotus publishes its terms on the manufacturer warranty page, but UAE terms were not published, so check your warranty booklet with the UAE dealer, AGMC. Checked 14 October 2026.
With only 14 used Lotus cars listed in Dubai, buyers often move fast. These six checks, done on our lift with a written report, show whether the asking price matches the car.
We decode the VIN, match engine and gearbox, check service stamps and look for open recalls or campaigns.
We check bonded joints, extrusion edges and suspension pickups for impact damage and corrosion where steel meets aluminium.
We look for spider web cracks, uneven panel gaps and repaint, which point to past damage on fibreglass or composite.
We pressure test the system, watch the gauge in traffic and check fans, radiator and the long coolant pipes.
We test clutch bite and slip, every shift on the road and IPS or DCT data on automatic cars.
We look for wet fuel and oil lines, check the oil cooler hoses and measure AC vent temperatures.

From the first message to collection, you know what happens at each step, whether the job belongs with AGMC and what it costs. Nothing starts on your Lotus without your approval.
Send the model, year, mileage and the issue on WhatsApp.
You get a first view of the likely cause.
We check cover and open recalls before anything else.
You get a clear answer: AGMC or us.
A free inspection with photos, and recovery if it will not drive.
You get a written, itemised quote.
The approved work, then a road test in traffic and on the open road.
You get an itemised invoice and your old parts.
Lotus started as a small maker of light sports cars and, under Geely, now builds electric cars too. Those changes explain why your Lotus may have a Toyota, AMG or electric heart.

Lotus moves to Hethel, Norfolk, still its sports car home.
The Elise launches with a bonded aluminium chassis and Rover K-series engine.
Geely takes a 51% stake in Lotus, announced on 24 May.
The Emira is revealed on 6 July to replace the Elise, Exige and Evora.
The Eletre electric SUV is revealed on 29 March, built in Wuhan.
AGMC signs as the official UAE distributor on 24 June.

A Lotus service in Dubai is likely to cost more than the AED 1,000 to 1,200 that dubizzle lists for a full service on an ordinary car. The exact price depends on the model, engine and the items due. We quote your Lotus in writing first.
AGMC, part of Albatha Group, signed as the official Lotus distributor in the UAE on 24 June 2026. It plans sales sites in Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah and aftersales centres in Dubai and Abu Dhabi. Warranty, recalls and high voltage work belong there.
Both, depending on the version. The Emira V6 uses the Toyota 2GR-FE 3.5 supercharged V6 with an Aisin six speed manual or IPS automatic. The Emira i4 uses the Mercedes-AMG M139 2.0 turbo with an eight speed dual clutch gearbox. We confirm yours by VIN.
On an Elise with the Rover K-series engine, coolant loss often points to head gasket failure, especially after overheating, or a leaking plastic radiator. White deposits on the dipstick are a warning sign. We pressure test and run a combustion leak test before quoting any repair.
No, stop and switch off. On the Evora 400, owners report a fuel pressure sensor T piece popping off, and early Evora S oil lines were recalled for leaks. Fuel or oil near a hot engine is a fire risk. We arrange recovery and find the source.
We handle tyres, brakes, alignment, the 12V battery, cabin filters and body work on the Eletre and Emeya. Battery, charging, drive unit and software work needs dealer tools, so it goes to AGMC, which also handles warranty and recalls on these electric cars.
A worn Lotus clutch slips in higher gears, so revs rise without more speed, or the bite point moves higher. A burning smell after traffic is another sign. We road test, check the bite point and gear cables, then quote the clutch with parts options.
Often yes, but it depends on the model. The Elise and Exige use one bonded aluminium tub, so damage limits repair options. The Evora chassis comes in three parts, so a damaged section can be replaced. We inspect on the lift and report before any quote.
Weak AC at idle usually means a slow refrigerant leak, a tired condenser fan or leaking AC pipes, a known Elise issue on 2006 and 2007 cars. Evora condensers were also covered by early service bulletins. We pressure test and find the leak before any regas.
A service, battery or AC check is usually a short visit. Clutch, cooling or gearbox work takes longer because engine access on a mid engine car is tight, and some Lotus parts are ordered in. We give you the expected time and parts lead time in writing.
Yes. We check the VIN, service history and recalls, inspect the chassis and clamshells on the lift, test cooling, clutch and gearbox, and look for fuel and oil leaks, then give a written report. Only 14 used Lotus cars were listed on dubizzle Dubai.
Send the model, year and what it is doing. We inspect free of charge, give you a written quote before any work, and tell you if AGMC should handle it.
