Revs rise but speed does not
Check for clutch slip, friction-surface contamination and release-system problems.
Engine revving without matching acceleration, judder when pulling away or a pedal that will not return? We check the clutch and its release system, explain the repair options and quote the work before replacing parts.
Indicative fitted manual-clutch budget with a 5% VAT allowance. The kit, access and extra work are confirmed in your written quote.

A starting point for budgeting, not a fixed package for every car. The kit, gearbox access and condition of related parts determine the final quote.
Confirm the disc, pressure plate, release bearing or concentric slave cylinder, and gearbox removal and refitting in the written quote.
Allow roughly AED 2,100–5,775 for the combined job, including a 5% VAT allowance. This combines the clutch budget with AED 1,050–2,100 additional flywheel allowance. Approve replacement only when checks justify it; complex or performance parts can cost more.
Plan around AED 630–1,575 with a 5% VAT allowance for a suitable master or external slave cylinder, routine fitting and bleeding. An internal concentric slave cylinder may require gearbox removal and a separate higher quote. Cable and oil-leak repairs are different jobs.
These are indicative planning budgets with a 5% VAT allowance, not fixed Mechanics tariffs. A routine clutch quote should list the disc, pressure plate, required release components, gearbox removal/refitting and operation checks. Confirm fluid, hardware and any seal work separately. Performance and dual-clutch transmissions need their own estimate. Start with the advertised free initial inspection; approve any paid dismantling or extended testing before it begins.
A change in pedal feel or a pulling-away vibration helps direct the inspection. It does not identify a failed part on its own.
Check for clutch slip, friction-surface contamination and release-system problems.
Check clutch engagement, the flywheel, engine and transmission mounts, and possible oil contamination.
Check fluid leaks, hydraulic operation or the cable where fitted. A release fault can prevent a healthy clutch from disengaging.
Listen and test before blaming the release bearing, flywheel or gearbox. Several faults can produce similar sounds.
Stop and arrange recovery if the car loses drive, cannot select gears safely, creeps unexpectedly with the pedal down, or has heavy slip with a burning smell. Avoid repeated attempts to force it into gear.

Suitable when the friction parts have failed and the flywheel meets the required checks. Match the disc, pressure plate and release parts to the engine and transmission.
Check surface damage, cracks and the relevant movement or dimensional limits. Resurfacing is only considered where the flywheel manufacturer permits it. Do not assume a dual-mass flywheel can be machined.
A smaller repair may be enough. A confirmed cable or hydraulic fault may need release-system work rather than a new clutch kit. When contamination caused failure, the leak also needs repair.

Check pedal operation, leaks and engagement. Confirm the gearbox type, parts choice and removal work before approval.
After gearbox removal, check the clutch, flywheel and release mechanism. Explain any extra findings before adding work.
Fit the matched components using the required procedure, refit the transmission and check disengagement, gear selection, leaks and operation.
Confirm the completion time after inspection and parts checks. Difficult gearbox access, seized hardware or an additional flywheel can extend the job.
Automatic or dual-clutch car? The work and parts differ. Use our gearbox and transmission repair service so the quote matches the actual transmission.
Illustrative budgets with a 5% VAT allowance. Your written quote confirms the actual parts and work; these examples are not completed customer jobs or fixed offers.
Example total: AED 945. One suitable external cylinder, routine fitting, fluid and bleeding. Gearbox removal, a clutch kit and recovery are excluded.
Example total: AED 2,100. Matched friction and release parts, routine gearbox removal/refitting and checks. Flywheel replacement, leaks and extra fluid service are excluded.
Example total: AED 3,675. AED 2,100 clutch allowance plus AED 1,575 for a suitable flywheel during shared access. Only add the flywheel after failed checks justify it.
A few details to settle before approving the job.
Not by itself. Pedal behavior, adjustment where applicable, hydraulic operation and confirmed slip all matter. We check the system before recommending parts.
No. The flywheel is checked against the applicable requirements. Wear, damage or excessive movement can justify replacement. Mileage alone is not the deciding test.
There is no single mileage interval for every manual clutch. Driving conditions, towing, previous repairs and how the clutch is used affect wear. Replace it according to its condition and the vehicle guidance.
Ask for the supplier and part numbers, kit contents, labor, any additional components and the applicable parts and labor warranty terms. Stock, coverage and exclusions are confirmed for the selected repair.
Follow the fitting supplier’s bedding-in guidance. Avoid resting your foot on the pedal or holding the car on a slope using clutch slip. Report persistent judder, slipping or difficult gear selection promptly.
Tell us what the pedal and car are doing. We will arrange the checks and explain whether the job involves hydraulics, a clutch kit or additional flywheel work.
