Leak repair
AED 300–1,500Published guide for sunroof leak work. A clearable drain, damaged hose, seal fault and leaking cassette involve different access and materials. Interior drying and trim repairs are quoted separately.
Leaking roof, jammed glass or a blind that will not move? Mechanics checks the fault and quotes the right drain, mechanism or glass repair so you can get the roof closing properly again.

Glass replacement has a separate guide below. Prices are estimates; parts, labor and VAT are confirmed in your written quote.

A leaking roof does not automatically need new glass or a complete mechanism. Start with the symptom, then compare the work and parts in the written quote.
Published guide for sunroof leak work. A clearable drain, damaged hose, seal fault and leaking cassette involve different access and materials. Interior drying and trim repairs are quoted separately.
Published guide for a replacement pane. The correct glass, fitting method, frame condition and parts availability determine the installed total. Large panoramic panels can exceed this range.
Electrical testing and mechanical inspection establish whether a motor, guide, cable or larger assembly is needed. A whole cassette is not priced as a simple drain service.
A damp headliner or wet footwell can be the end of a water path, not the entry point. We trace the leak before recommending a perimeter seal or new panel. Tell us whether it happens in rain, after a wash or only when the car is parked on a slope.
Check panel seating, visible gaps, damaged weatherstrips and surrounding joints. Wind noise and water entry may share an alignment issue, but neither symptom identifies a failed part by itself.
Inspect the drainage arrangement fitted to the vehicle. Debris, a disconnected hose or a kink can stop water reaching the intended outlet. A hose fault needs more than cleaning the visible opening.
Check the affected headliner, pillars and accessible floor areas. If water has reached electrical components or soaked insulation, that damage needs separate assessment and drying.
Park under cover when possible and tell us where the water appeared.
Avoid repeated hose testing or operating a roof that is binding. If the cabin is heavily wet, describe that when you call so we can discuss inspection and transport. Extensive water damage may also need our water-damage assessment.
Manufacturer guidance such as BMW sunroof water-leak diagnosis (PDF) distinguishes panel adjustment, seals and drains. The procedure used must match your vehicle.

If the glass is crooked, drops on one side or grinds, stop operating it. Repeated attempts can worsen mechanical damage. Keep hands clear and call before trying to force the panel shut.
A silent motor, clicking drive or roof that reverses just before closing can have different causes. Replacing the motor without checking the mechanism and its electrical supply may leave the fault unresolved.
Inspect the relevant fuse, switch, wiring, connector and motor response. Fault information and electrical tests are used where the fitted system supports them.
Check tracks, cables, sliders and the frame for damage or binding. Cleaning, correct lubrication or adjustment is suitable only while the related parts remain serviceable.
After the mechanical or electrical repair, complete the model-specific initialization when required and verify travel, seating and the applicable safety function.
Some roofs reverse when an obstruction is detected. Reversal alone does not prove motor failure. Avoid bypassing protection or trying a generic internet reset on a binding mechanism.
The visible pane, the sliding blind and the complete cassette are separate items. The quote should identify the actual component being repaired or replaced.
Identify the moving front panel or fixed rear panel, roof option and vehicle specification. Replacement includes the agreed removal, fitting and checks; damage to tracks, surrounding metal or the blind changes the job.
Loose glass or an unsecured roof needs advice before the car is moved. A cracked pane should not be repeatedly operated. Where bonding is part of the procedure, the specified curing time affects handover.

A torn blind, detached edge or jammed roller needs its own inspection. The glass may work normally while the shade fails. Tell us whether the blind is manual or powered and which movement is affected.
For sagging fabric across the cabin ceiling, see roof lining and headliner repair. If staining came from a leak, address the water source before retrimming.
We explain the findings and price before the agreed repair. Extra dismantling or hidden damage is discussed before the job grows.
Confirm the roof type and symptom. Inspect visible condition, then agree any deeper water tracing or mechanism access needed.
Compare a serviceable component repair with the necessary replacement. Confirm parts maker, condition, labor and any trim removal.
Carry out the approved drain, electrical, mechanical, glass or shade work using the vehicle-specific fitting requirements.
Verify the repaired function. Leak jobs need a relevant water test; movement jobs need travel, closure and applicable initialization checks.
A straightforward drain service or adjustment may be completed within a workshop visit. Glass supply, headliner removal, cassette work, drying and adhesive curing can extend the time. We confirm parts availability and the expected handover after assessment rather than promise every roof back the same day.
A standard tilt-and-slide roof, panoramic roof and fixed glass roof do not share the same parts. “Moonroof” may simply describe a glass sunroof, so the actual fitted design matters more than the name.
For Audi-specific enquiries, see Audi sunroof repair. Factory roof repairs here do not imply that converting a solid roof to a panoramic roof is suitable.
Clear answers about the work, cost and next step for your car.
Yes, when the cause is a serviceable drain, connection, adjustment or replaceable seal. Damaged glass, tracks or a leaking cassette may need different parts. The leak needs tracing before the least invasive sound repair can be chosen.
The existing published guides are AED 300–1,500 for leak repair and AED 500–2,000 or more for glass replacement. They are not fixed fitted packages and their VAT status is unconfirmed. Your vehicle-specific written quote confirms the parts, labor, testing and final amount including VAT.
We can assess why it is stuck and the appropriate repair or securing procedure. Stop using the switch if the panel binds, grinds or moves unevenly. Call with the model and current roof position before moving a car with unsecured glass.
No. Disconnected or kinked hoses, panel alignment, seals, a cassette fault or a nearby body joint can also allow water entry. A completed leak repair needs a relevant water test, not just visible cleaning.
Not automatically. The motor, wiring and mechanical drive should be tested together. A separate compatible motor can be considered when the surrounding system is serviceable; a damaged integrated assembly may need a larger repair.
A model-specific initialization can be required after certain repairs or power interruptions. It does not mend broken guides, damaged cables or binding tracks. Those faults must be assessed before repeated operation.
We assess the fitted glass panels, mechanism and shade separately. Parts availability and access determine the repair option. Send the vehicle details and photographs so the enquiry can be matched to the actual roof design.
Tell us what happened and where the roof is now. We will help arrange the right inspection and a written repair quote before parts are ordered.
For loose glass or a roof stuck open, call before driving. An enquiry lets us agree the next step and availability.
