Compact and mid-size sedan planning estimates start around AED 475 fitted with 5% VAT. Camera calibration, where required, is separate.

Windshield replacement prices

Glass specification matters as much as the model name. Use these Dubai estimates to compare the two parts routes, then ask us for a quote matched to your vehicle.

Per front windscreen, glass and routine fitting labour, including a 5% VAT allowance. These are researched planning estimates, not confirmed Mechanics tariffs. VAT has been added once and some figures rounded. Swipe the table on smaller screens.

What is separate?

Required ADAS camera calibration has a planning allowance of AED 420–1,050 per vehicle including 5% VAT. Special glass features, damaged trims, corrosion or body repairs can change the total. Rear glass and seal-only work are different jobs.

Compare the final fitted total

Ask for the glass maker and part specification, removal and fitting labour, adhesive, required clips or mouldings, calibration and VAT in the quote. Manufacturer-branded dealer glass is a separate sourcing route and may cost more than the OEM-branded examples above.

Get the price for your car

Send the make, model, year and two photos showing the damage and the area behind the mirror. We may need the VIN to confirm the glass variant.

If damage prevents a clear view or glass is loose, do not drive the car to us. Call to discuss a safe transport arrangement.

Choose the work the glass needs

Repair the chip or replace the screen?

Assess a small localised chip

Some damage can be considered for resin repair. Suitability depends on its depth, position, spread and the condition of the glass. A photo helps with the first enquiry, but the screen needs inspection before the repair decision.

Replace unsuitable or extensive damage

A spreading crack, substantial impact damage, damage at an edge or a problem affecting the driver's view may require replacement. We explain the recommendation and quote the appropriate screen rather than treating every chip as the same job.

Investigate leaks and wind noise

Water entry or whistling after an earlier installation can involve the bond, trim or another body seal. Replacing intact glass is not automatically the answer. Tell us when the problem started and whether the screen has been changed before.

Two suitable parts routes

OEM or aftermarket windscreen glass?

Choose by the identified manufacturer, vehicle fit and required features. An OEM label alone does not tell you the full specification or warranty.

Compatible aftermarket glass

A suitable aftermarket screen can lower the fitted cost. Confirm the manufacturer and application, optical quality and all required mounting points before comparing quotes.

  • Match the vehicle and exact glass variant
  • Retain camera and rain-sensor compatibility
  • Check heating, acoustic layers and head-up display requirements where fitted

OEM or manufacturer-branded glass

Discuss an OEM supplier or manufacturer-branded part where your specification or parts preference calls for it. Availability and the exact supply route affect price and timing.

  • Identify the supplier and part reference
  • Confirm the original fitted features
  • Compare the complete fitted cost and written coverage

Your final quote should state the selected glass and applicable parts and fitting warranty. Ask what is covered for leaks or installation defects, the duration and any exclusions. Do not assume one blanket warranty applies to every supplier.

Replacement glass and ADAS calibration

The forward camera behind the mirror can support lane assistance, road-sign recognition or automatic emergency braking. Replacing the windscreen changes the glass and mounting relationship around that camera.

Follow the vehicle's procedure

Where a camera is fitted, the replacement plan must include the manufacturer's required checks and calibration. Depending on the vehicle, this can use stationary targets, a specified driving procedure or both. Clearing a warning is not a calibration.

Confirm it before booking

Tell us about any camera or assistance warning. We confirm the required procedure, calibration arrangement and separate cost for your model before the work is booked. Ask for the completion record at handover. Calibration is not required for every car, and it is not included in the glass-only estimates above.

From assessment to handover

What the replacement involves

Confirm the glass and work

Inspect the damage, identify the fitted features and check the required part's availability. Agree the fitted scope and any calibration or additional repairs before fitting begins.

Prepare and fit the screen

Protect the surrounding surfaces, remove the old glass and prepare the bonding area. Damaged clips, trim or corrosion need attention rather than being covered over. Fit the compatible screen with the appropriate adhesive system.

Check and release the car

The handover should cover the fit and seal checks, wiper and washer operation, connected features and required camera work. Confirm the earliest drive-away time and aftercare before leaving.

Fitting time is not drive-away time

Parts supply, the bonding area, adhesive and calibration affect the completion window. The installer gives the minimum drive-away time for the adhesive used and the actual conditions. Do not rely on a universal 30-minute promise. Follow the supplied instructions for washing, retaining tape and other aftercare.

Before vehicle testing

Windscreen condition and RTA inspection

The RTA's published light-vehicle testing checklist includes the driver's field of vision, glass condition, windscreen wipers and screen washers. Deal with damage or faults affecting these areas before presenting the car for testing.

A clear view

Tell us if cracks, scratches or distortion affect the area you look through. Inspection of the actual damage determines the work recommendation.

Glass and visibility equipment

Glass condition, secure installation and working wipers and washers matter. Mention loose trim, leaks or a poor sweep when booking the assessment.

The testing centre decides

A repair or replacement does not guarantee an RTA pass. For a decision about a particular defect, contact RTA or an authorised testing centre.

See the RTA vehicle testing checklist for the published visibility items.

Before you book

Your windscreen questions

Call with your model and the damage if you need help choosing the next step.

How much does windshield replacement cost in Dubai?

Our planning table starts around AED 475–895 for a compact or mid-size sedan with aftermarket glass, or AED 840–1,470 with OEM-branded glass. These fitted estimates include a 5% VAT allowance and are not confirmed Mechanics tariffs. The vehicle, glass features and any separate camera calibration determine your final quote.

Can I drive immediately after replacement?

No. Wait until the installer confirms the minimum drive-away time for the adhesive and conditions, with the required checks and camera work completed. Installation time alone does not establish when the car can safely be released.

Will you replace the windscreen at my home?

This page covers work booked through our Al Quoz workshop. Call to confirm the fitting location and any transport arrangements before booking. We do not promise mobile fitting for every vehicle or job.

Does my insurance cover windscreen replacement?

Check the glass section of your policy and ask your insurer about approval, excess, permitted repairers and calibration coverage before authorising work. Cover varies. Contact Mechanics to discuss the quote, but do not assume direct billing or insurer approval is included.

Is a repaired chip guaranteed to pass RTA testing?

No. The authorised testing centre assesses the vehicle. Glass condition and visibility are included in RTA's published light-vehicle checklist. An assessment can explain the repair options, but it cannot promise the official inspection result.

What should I send for a quote?

Start with the make, model, year, a close photo of the damage and a wider photo of the screen and mirror area. Tell us about assistance warnings, rain sensors, head-up display or heating if fitted. We may request the VIN to match the exact part.
