The dual clutch gearbox in Dubai traffic
The Exeed TXL 1.6 turbo uses a 7 speed dual clutch gearbox, and early VX 2.0 turbo cars used one too. Dual clutch gearboxes shift fast and save fuel, but they dislike long stop and go traffic in heat.
From the 2023 update, the more powerful VX moved to an 8 speed Aisin automatic. If your Exeed has the dual clutch, the early signs are easy to miss, and most problems start with servicing, fluid and clutch learning rather than broken parts.

Exeed is still young, so long term data is thin. Owner forums mostly mention comfort and electrical quirks rather than big failures. These are the ones we see asked about most.
Musty smell in the cabin
A damp, swampy smell usually means moisture and mould in the AC system, made worse by Dubai humidity.We clean the evaporator and replace the cabin filter.
Windows open on remote start
Owners report windows lowering when the car is started remotely. Usually a settings or software matter.We check the settings, then the dealer handles software.
Mirrors fold after start up

Five things heat does to an Exeed
Turbo engines, dual clutch gearboxes and lots of electronics all work harder at 45°C. These are the five we check before and during summer.
Dual clutch heat
Long jams heat the clutches. Avoid creeping on the brake for long periods, and keep the fluid fresh.
Turbo and oil
Turbo engines need clean oil to stay cool. Change it on time with the right spec.
Radiator and fans
We check coolant level, fans and hoses before the hottest months.
Cooling and smell
A clean condenser cools better. A fresh filter and evaporator clean stop the musty smell.
Heat ages it
A weak battery causes many electrical quirks. A quick test before summer avoids a breakdown.

Why does my Exeed hesitate or judder when pulling away?
On dual clutch cars this usually points to fluid condition, clutch adaptation or software rather than a broken part. Heat and long traffic make it worse. Under warranty, take it to AG Auto. Out of warranty, we read the data and quote the fix.
Why does my Exeed AC smell musty?
A damp, musty smell usually means moisture and mould in the AC evaporator. Cleaning the evaporator and fitting a new cabin filter normally clears it.
Can you service an imported Exeed?
Yes. Exeeds imported privately may not carry the UAE warranty, so there is no dealer cover to protect. We service and repair them with the right oil and parts, quoted in writing first.
Will an independent garage affect my Exeed warranty?
Servicing outside the dealer can affect warranty claims, so while your car is under cover we recommend dealer servicing. Wear parts like tyres and brakes, and accident repairs, are jobs we can do.
