Engine warning, warm AC or a hesitant gearbox? Mechanics helps Opel owners with servicing, engine and cooling faults, brakes, suspension and electrical concerns. Start with an inspection and agree the repair and price before work begins.
General fitted brake-pad guide AED 265–850 per axle5% VAT included; specification affects the quote.

Compare the job and what it includes. Your engine, equipment and parts choice determine the final written quote.
| Work | Budget including VAT (AED) | Included work and extras |
|---|---|---|
| Standard brake pads | 265–850 / axle | Routine fitting. Discs, wear sensors and caliper repairs are extra. |
| Cabin filter | 105–315 / vehicle | Filter and routine replacement. AC diagnosis is separate. |
| Four-wheel alignment | 157.50–315 / vehicle | Alignment checks and routine adjustment; worn suspension parts cost extra. |
| R134a AC recharge | 160–420 / vehicle | Routine recovery, evacuation, recharge and cooling check. Leak repairs and other refrigerants are separate. |
| Conventional control arm | 420–1,260 / arm | Part and routine fitting. Alignment and seized-fixing work may add cost. |
| Timing belt or chain work | 1,575–4,725 / vehicle | Indicative kit and fitting budget. Engine, kit contents, access, pump and oil-system work change the quote; complex jobs can exceed this range. |
These are general planning ranges from our service guides, with a 5% VAT allowance, rather than fixed Opel tariffs. They assume routine fitting where stated. Diagnostics, extra damage, specialist variants and additional parts can change the price. Request an itemised quote before authorising work.
Send the model, year, mileage and symptom. A VIN helps match the engine, gearbox and parts.

An Astra badge or a 1.2-litre description alone does not identify the correct oil, timing drive or service schedule.
Use the current specification and interval for the exact engine and market. Bring previous invoices, especially if oil use, low oil pressure or a missed service prompted the visit.
Opel uses different systems across generations. Some earlier PureTech 1.0/1.2 petrol engines have an oil-bathed belt; other engines differ. Confirm the engine code before ordering a kit or applying an interval.
Fault codes guide tests rather than prove a part has failed. Check ignition coils and plugs, air and boost leaks, crankcase ventilation and mechanical condition as indicated by the symptom.
Manufacturer support can affect your decision: Stellantis PureTech support covers specific generations and eligibility conditions in European markets. Check your VIN, service history and original market with an authorised representative before paying for potentially covered work; UAE eligibility needs confirmation.
Ask about your exact version before booking. The same model name can cover different platforms, engines and transmissions.
Also enquire about Cascada, Signum, Omega, Kadett and Vita. For OPC, adaptive chassis, Vauxhall imports, diesels, hybrids or electric cars, send the VIN and original market so we can confirm parts, diagnostic access and acceptance. High-voltage battery work and manufacturer campaigns require appropriate specialist or authorised support.
Select the unit fitted to your Opel. If you are unsure, send the VIN or a photo of the selector and any warning.
A harsh change, slipping or delayed engagement can involve fluid condition, control faults or internal wear. Confirm the gearbox code before selecting oil, parts or a repair.
Assess leaks, specified fluid level and fault data under the right conditions. A service is appropriate only when it matches the unit and findings.
A valve-body repair and a complete rebuild solve different faults. Compare what each quote includes, the parts used and the written warranty.
A high biting point, difficult selection and a noise with the clutch depressed are different enquiries. Describe the symptom before approving a clutch kit.
Inspect the hydraulic circuit and release operation. Oil leakage, mount movement or linkage wear can affect how the car feels.
The flywheel type and condition determine whether replacement is needed. Ask whether the kit, release bearing, seals and fluids are included.
Easytronic uses a clutch with automated operation. It is not a conventional torque-converter automatic, so a generic automatic-fluid service may not address the fault.
Judder, failure to engage and an F warning need checks of supply voltage, stored faults, clutch condition and actuator operation.
Clutch or actuator work may require learning procedures. Send the exact model and year so we can confirm the diagnostic access and work available.
A hot engine, warm cabin and flat battery need different checks. A clear description helps us plan the visit.
Check for external leaks, pressure loss, thermostat operation, pump circulation and fan control as indicated. Stop safely for overheating; never open a hot coolant cap.
Airflow, condenser condition, fan operation, refrigerant charge and compressor control can affect cooling. Identify the refrigerant from the vehicle label; a refill will not repair a leak.
Separate a weak 12-volt supply from charging, starter, wiring and immobiliser faults. Confirm access before promising key programming or module coding.

Compare a named part, the work required and the cover offered. Availability and suitability matter as much as the headline price.
For brake noise or vibration, inspection should distinguish pads, disc condition and caliper operation. For knocking or uneven tyre wear, check bushes, arms, joints and dampers before alignment. ABS, airbag or driver-assistance warnings may need separate electrical tests or calibration. See brake repair or suspension repair for the related work.
Use the free initial inspection to discuss the concern. Agree any further chargeable testing before it starts.
Model, year, mileage, warning text and when the fault occurs. Include service history or a short video if useful.
Review the findings, selected parts, fitting, VAT and applicable warranty. Additional work needs your approval.
Ask about parts lead times and a realistic completion estimate. Dubai pickup is by arrangement; confirm availability and any cost.

Costs, compatibility, servicing and the next step.
It depends on the engine, fitted equipment and diagnosed fault. General fitted guides include standard brake pads at AED 265–850 per axle and cabin filters at AED 105–315 per vehicle, including routine fitting and 5% VAT. They are not fixed Opel tariffs. Ask for a written quote covering the selected parts, fitting and any diagnostic or calibration charges.
Identify the exact engine code and model year. Opel has used different timing arrangements across generations, including oil-bathed belts on some earlier PureTech petrol engines and chains on other engines. Do not apply one belt interval, oil approval or repair package to every 1.2-litre Opel.
Manufacturer information addresses specific engine generations, markets and eligibility conditions. European PureTech support and 1.5 BlueHDi camshaft-chain policies should not be treated as automatic UAE coverage. Check the VIN, original market and service history with an authorised Opel representative before paying for potentially covered work.
Send the model, year and gearbox details so we can confirm the work. Easytronic is an automated manual; clutch, actuator and adaptation requirements differ from conventional automatic servicing. A fluid change is not a guaranteed fix for judder, delayed engagement or a gearbox warning.
Follow the current maintenance schedule for the exact engine, market and operating conditions, together with the service indication. Bring previous invoices and oil details. A new warning, fluid loss or mechanical noise should be investigated before the next scheduled visit.
Ask us to confirm acceptance first. Diesel imports can add DPF, EGR, SCR and AdBlue-related requirements where fitted. Hybrid and electric work can require high-voltage training and specialist equipment. Restricted software, battery work and recalls need the appropriate access and authorised support where applicable.
We check parts by VIN and confirm stock or lead time before promising completion. Routine work and an intermittent fault investigation have different time requirements. Ask for an estimate after the required work is identified; do not assume every Opel part is held locally.
Ask what the free initial inspection covers and whether further tests are chargeable before authorising them. The written repair quote should identify the parts, fitting, VAT and warranty terms that apply to that job. We do not publish one warranty duration for every part or repair.
Call Mechanics in Al Quoz or send your car details. We will confirm the next checks and quote requirements.
