Engine and cooling
For low power, a leak or a temperature warning, check the intake, boost control and affected cooling circuit. A split hose or control fault needs different work from a turbo replacement.
A 4WD warning, a clunk after the dunes, weak AC or a service due? Mechanics helps you arrange the right repair for your Tank 300 or 500, with a free initial inspection and a written quote before work starts.
Minor-service planning budget AED 350–900 per vehicle, including 5% VAT. The engine, oil quantity and due items determine your final quote.

Compare the fitted work, not just the headline figure. These general Dubai planning ranges include routine labour and 5% VAT. They are not fixed Tank tariffs or a promise that every version fits the same budget.
| Work | Budget in AED | Included work and exclusions |
|---|---|---|
| Minor service | 350–900 per vehicle | Correct-specification engine oil, oil filter, routine labour and agreed checks. Oil quantity and filter application affect the price. |
| Major service | 900–2,500 per vehicle | Routine servicing plus the scheduled filters, plugs or fluids listed in your quote. Repairs and unscheduled replacements are separate. |
| Standard brake pads | 265–850 per axle | Compatible pads on both wheels and routine fitting. Discs, sensors and caliper work are extra. |
| Conventional shock replacement | 525–1,680 per axle pair | Two standard shocks and routine fitting. Adaptive dampers, complete struts, mounts and alignment are separate. |
| Control arm replacement | 420–1,260 per arm | One compatible conventional arm and routine fitting. Seized fittings, additional arms and alignment change the total. |
| Four-wheel alignment | 157.50–315 per vehicle | Measurement and supported adjustment. Worn joints, damaged tyres, seized adjusters and additional calibration are separate. |
| Gearbox, 4x4, AC or electrical repair | Quote after agreed tests | Identify the failed component first. Parts, fitting, specified fluids and any required setup are itemised before approval. |
The initial inspection is free. Diagnostic time, dismantling or specialist testing needs an agreed charge. Ask for the payable total, parts lead time and repair-warranty terms in writing.
Send the model and work you need. We will help you compare the right service or repair before you commit.
For low power, a leak or a temperature warning, check the intake, boost control and affected cooling circuit. A split hose or control fault needs different work from a turbo replacement.
Harsh shifts, a driveline vibration or a differential-lock warning need the fitted gearbox and transfer system identified. Separate fluid leaks, electrical inputs and mechanical wear before choosing a repair.
Investigate clunks, pulling and brake vibration with checks of pads, discs, tyres, bushes and joints. Replace a worn part before alignment; an alignment alone cannot remove mechanical play.
Weak cooling, a slow start or an intermittent warning can involve different systems. Check airflow and leaks before an AC refill, and test the low-voltage supply before replacing electrical components.

A post-trip check reaches beyond an oil change. Mention any impact, water exposure or new noise so the inspection targets what happened.
Inspect airbox sealing, filter condition and debris around cooling surfaces.
Look for damaged guards, leaks, split boots and concerns around shafts or axle seals.
Assess tread or sidewall damage, loose joints and the source of vibration or pulling.
Stop safely for overheating, an oil-pressure warning, reduced braking, a strong fuel smell or serious impact damage. Follow dashboard instructions and arrange suitable assistance. A water-exposure concern needs assessment before restarting.

The UAE petrol version pairs a 2.0 turbo with an 8-speed automatic. The HEV uses a different hybrid transmission. Differential-lock equipment also varies by trim.
Petrol 8AT · HEV 9-speed HAT
The petrol 500 has a 3.0 twin-turbo V6 and 9-speed automatic. The HEV combines a 2.0 turbo with a hybrid transmission. Engine parts and fluid requirements differ.
Petrol V6 9AT · HEV 9-speed HATTank 700 or a private import? Send the model, year and concern first. The UAE range now includes the 700; confirm the exact specification, parts availability and workshop coverage before arranging specialist work.
HEV does not mean plug-in. Keep engine maintenance on the service plan. High-voltage diagnosis, battery-pack work and restricted factory programming require specific capability and access, confirmed before booking.
Bring the service book or last invoice. Build the work around your VIN-specific schedule, then account for dusty conditions, towing and desert use. A single interval or a generic fluid does not suit every Tank.
Use the correct approval and quantity. Add air filters, cabin filters and spark plugs when due, rather than assuming every major service includes the same parts.
Identify gearbox, transfer-case and differential requirements individually. A hybrid transmission must not be priced as the petrol model’s conventional automatic.
Review brakes, tyres, lights, leaks, battery condition and reported AC performance. Keep an itemised invoice; checks do not include replacements unless quoted.
Request the part maker, application and fitted total. Original and suitable alternative parts can differ in availability and cover. Confirm compatibility before ordering a sensor, suspension part or driveline component.
Parts delivery, diagnostic time and workshop labour are different estimates. Any required matching, programming or calibration should be named in the quote, with final checks included.
GWM UAE advertises vehicle and additional engine/transmission cover, with battery terms for HEVs. Check your own eligibility and service conditions first. Mechanics’ paid repair warranty is separate and job-specific.

General workshop feedback, rather than a Tank-specific repair.
Tell us what changed or which service is due. Start with the model and year; mileage, a warning photo and service history can follow when useful.
Mention active warranty or service-contract cover. Confirm the appointment before travelling, or ask about pickup availability, suitable transport and any charge.
The initial inspection is free. Any deeper investigation or dismantling needs an agreed price.
Review the findings, compatible parts, labour and VAT. Additional work needs your agreement.
Check the completed work, invoice and applicable warranty. Retain the record for the next service.

The general fitted planning range is AED 350–900 per vehicle for a minor service and AED 900–2,500 for a major service, including 5% VAT. These are not fixed Tank tariffs. The engine, oil quantity and scheduled filters, plugs or fluids affect the total. Ask for the exact inclusions and any additional testing before approving the quote.
Contact Mechanics about servicing, brakes, suspension, AC and driveline concerns on Tank 300 and 500 models. Petrol and HEV versions need different parts, transmission fluids and electrical procedures. For a Tank 700, private import or specialist hybrid fault, send the model and problem first so the available diagnostic coverage and work can be confirmed before the visit.
No. HEV identifies a hybrid powertrain; it does not mean the vehicle accepts external charging. UAE Tank 300 and 500 HEV specifications are listed separately from their conventional petrol versions. A privately imported plug-in version can have different systems. Identify the actual vehicle rather than choosing a charging or battery repair from the badge alone.
Follow the time or mileage limit in the service book that applies to your VIN and market. Check the last invoice for work already completed. Desert use, towing and dusty operating conditions may require additional checks or the applicable severe-use schedule. There is no single oil, gearbox or differential interval that should be assumed for every Tank version.
Follow the dashboard instructions and describe the exact message, when it appears and any noise or change in shifting. A warning can involve electrical inputs, controls, fluid condition or mechanical components; it does not by itself prove the transfer case or gearbox needs replacing. Stop safely and arrange assistance for loss of drive, serious leaks, overheating or unsafe operation.
Check your own warranty and service-contract terms with the supplying dealer or warranty provider before independent work. GWM UAE advertises new-vehicle and additional engine/transmission cover, with separate battery terms on HEV specifications. Eligibility and required servicing conditions matter. Mechanics is independent and cannot decide a manufacturer claim. Any workshop repair warranty should be stated separately on the quotation and invoice.
Routine servicing and a confirmed parts replacement can require different workshop time from an intermittent 4WD or electrical fault. The estimate follows the agreed work and availability of the correct parts. Ask for delivery time, workshop time and any setup or final testing separately. Pickup is by arrangement; confirm availability, transport suitability and any charge before booking.
