American Car Repair in Dubai
Big V8s, full size SUVs and pickups that tow, climb dunes and sit in traffic at 50 degrees. We know where American cars wear first in the Gulf, we check imported cars properly, and we quote in writing before any work.
Eleven American brands, one workshop
From the Tahoe to the Model 3. Each brand page covers the faults, models and jobs we see most.

Bought an imported American car? Check these first
Many American cars in Dubai are imported rather than sold new by a local agent. Some are excellent buys. Others were built for a milder climate or carry history the seller did not mention.

01History
Run the VIN through a history report, then bring the car to us. Paperwork and the car should tell the same story.
- Accident and salvage records
- Flood signs under carpets
- Mileage that matches the wear
02Heat
Cooling and AC work hardest in Dubai, and they are the first to show a car was built for somewhere cooler.
- Radiator and fans
- AC pressure and output
- Hoses and water pump
03Costs
As a guide, customs duty is generally 5 percent of the value with shipping and insurance, and 5 percent VAT is added.
- Registration and plates
- Insurance
- A first service
Duty and fees change, so confirm current rates with Dubai Customs and the RTA. We help with the car, not the paperwork.
What American cars have in common
These six areas cover most of the American car work that comes into our Al Quoz workshop.

V8 lifter tick
A tick at idle on GM V8s can be a lifter on the cylinder deactivation system. Found early, it saves the camshaft.
- GMC
- Chevrolet
- Cadillac

Weak rear AC
Long rear AC lines run under the car and corrode or leak, so the third row runs warm.
- Tahoe
- Yukon
- Escalade

Water pumps
Some V6 engines hide the water pump inside the engine. A leak there needs action quickly.
- Ford
- Lincoln

Oil leaks
Oil cooler housings and gaskets on V6 engines crack in the heat and leak onto the exhaust.
- Dodge
- Jeep
- Chrysler

After the dunes
Sand, bumps and low tyre pressures wear joints, bushes and seals under the car.
- Jeep
- Ford
- GMC

Timing chains
A rattle on cold start on EcoBoost and some V6 engines points to chain or phaser wear.
- EcoBoost
- Lincoln
- Ford

Not American? We cover those too
Every origin has its own hub page and every brand has its own page. You can also browse all brands A to Z.
Which American cars do you repair?
GMC, Chevrolet, Ford, Jeep, Dodge, Cadillac, Lincoln, RAM, Tesla, Chrysler and Hummer, including GCC spec and imported cars.
What is the difference between an imported car and a GCC spec car?
GCC spec cars are usually built with cooling and AC for Gulf heat. An imported car may not be, and some imports arrive with an accident, flood or salvage history. Both are worth checking before you buy.
Should I get an imported car checked before buying?
Yes. Run the VIN through a history report, then let us inspect it on the lift. We look for flood signs, repaired damage, cooling and AC condition and stored fault codes.
What extra costs come with importing an American car to the UAE?
As a guide, customs duty is generally 5 percent of the car value including shipping and insurance, VAT of 5 percent is added, and registration and insurance come on top. Check the current rules with Dubai Customs and the RTA before you buy.
Why does my American V8 tick at idle?
On GM V8 engines it is often a lifter linked to the cylinder deactivation system. We diagnose it before quoting, because early repair can save the camshaft.
Why is the rear AC weak on my SUV?
Big SUVs run long AC lines to the rear unit, and these can leak or corrode. We pressure test the system to find the leak.
Is the inspection free?
Yes. We inspect the car and send a written quote before any work starts. You decide whether to go ahead.
Where is your workshop?
In Al Quoz, Dubai. Message us and we send the exact location, or we arrange recovery if the car cannot be driven.
Is it worth buying an American import in the UAE?
It can be, if the price reflects the history and the car passes an independent inspection. Check for accident, flood and salvage records, and plan for cooling and AC checks before the first summer.
Are parts easy to find for American imports?
For popular models such as the Tahoe, Silverado, Mustang, Wrangler and Explorer, yes. Imported spec parts can differ from GCC spec parts, so we match parts to the VIN before ordering.
