Mercedes Service A and Service B explained
Mercedes cars tell you which service they want. A message such as Service A due or Service B due appears on the dash before the date or distance runs out.
Most cars alternate between the two, about once a year. One Dubai guide puts Service A at about 20,000 km or one year, whichever comes first.

Mercedes service cost by class
The engine sets the price more than the class. An Al Quoz garage lists Mercedes service by cylinder count, so we grouped the common Dubai models by their usual engines.

Two guides, two ways of counting

Both are useful. Neither is a Mechanics tariff, and your quote lists every item and part by name.
Dubai checks worth adding to a Mercedes service
Service A and B follow the factory list. A few extra checks suit Dubai roads and summer heat, and most cost little when the car is already on the lift.

Why a Dubai Mercedes reaches Service A sooner
Summer heat, long idling and fine dust count as hard use. Oil ages faster and the cabin filter clogs sooner in Dubai.
An oil and filter change alone is about AED 575 to 780 in one Dubai guide, by number of cylinders. Use oil with the Mercedes approval number your engine needs.
Common Mercedes repair costs in Dubai
These are the repairs that most often land next to a service bill. Most are quoted after inspection, because the cause decides the price.
Airmatic air suspension
S-Class, GLE, GLS and some E-Class models use Airmatic. A car that sits low in the morning usually has a leaking air spring, line or valve.
Sun ages the rubber springs, and a compressor that keeps running to cover a leak overheats. Fixing the leak early often saves the compressor.

On the 722.9 gearbox a failed conductor plate causes limp mode and harsh shifts. It costs far less than a new gearbox.

The 725.0 is known for harsh low speed shifts. Many cases improve with a software update and adaptation reset.

Many gearbox complaints on a Mercedes are electrical or software, not mechanical. A scan with live data shows whether the conductor plate, a sensor or the fluid is the cause.

Gargash or independent, and your UAE warranty
Gargash Enterprises is the official Mercedes-Benz dealer in Dubai. Some work belongs there, and some does not.
Check your cover first
New Mercedes listings in Dubai show agency warranties of up to 5 years, per DubiCars new Mercedes listings. Gargash certified used cars can carry warranty and service for up to 5 years or 105,000 km, per a Gargash certified listing on dubizzle, both checked 13 October 2026.
If a service contract is already paid, use it before paying anywhere else.
- Warranty claims and recalls go to Gargash. They are free while the car is covered.
- Servicing outside the dealer does not void a UAE warranty by itself. A Khaleej Times legal explainer says the Ministry of Economy dropped the dealer only condition in 2016.
- Keep the records. Itemised invoices with date, mileage, VIN and oil approval protect a later claim.
- Out of cover, an independent workshop gives you a written quote and a choice of parts.
How to keep Mercedes service costs down in Dubai
- Send a photo of the dash message. The letter and number tell us exactly what is due.
- Fix Airmatic leaks early. One air spring costs far less than a spring and a compressor.
- Do not skip brake fluid. Service B renews it, and old fluid boils sooner in summer heat.
- Change the cabin filter often. Dust clogs it fast, and the AC works harder.
- Ask for a gearbox scan first. Many shift faults are software or a plate, not a gearbox.
- Compare parts side by side. Genuine and matching parts on one quote make choice easy.

Often, because labour rates are lower and you can choose between genuine and quality matching parts. One Dubai guide lists independent labour at about AED 375 an hour against AED 400 or more at authorised workshops.
