Car detailing prices and what to compare

A wash, seat shampoo and paint polish are different jobs. Compare the areas treated and finish included, then ask for an itemised quote for your vehicle.

The numerical examples include VAT. They come from SuperQuick’s published packages and wash price guide, checked on 13 October 2026. They are not Mechanics tariffs or market averages. That provider adds AED 100 for an SUV detailing package. Mechanics will confirm vehicle size, the work included and VAT in your written quote.

Get a quote for the areas you need

Tell us the make, model and year, the areas that need attention and any stains, wraps or coatings. Photos help us discuss the likely work before a workshop assessment.

Confirm heavy-soiling charges, seat removal, roof lining, pet hair, stain treatment, polishing stages and any coating separately. An enquiry or photo estimate does not confirm a booking.

Choose the right level

A regular wash or a deeper detail

Choose the smallest job that addresses the condition of your car. There is no need to book a full detail for ordinary surface dust.

Maintenance car wash

For routine dirt on a sound finish. Agree whether the booking is exterior only or also includes a cabin vacuum and wipe-down.

  • Exterior washing and drying
  • Accessible wheel faces and glass
  • Interior refresh only when included

Seat shampoo, stubborn bonded deposits and machine polishing are extra work. A quick wash cannot remove damaged paint or repair upholstery.

Interior or exterior detailing

For accumulated grime, marked fabrics, dull paint or an interior that needs more attention. Book one area or combine both when that matches the condition.

  • Material-specific cleaning
  • Condition-led paint preparation
  • Agreed finishing and drying time

A full detail should list the areas and treatments. Engine bay cleaning and exhaust-tip polishing are optional additions, rather than assumed inclusions.

Protect the finish during washing

Loose grit should be removed before contact cleaning. Wash media and cleaning products need to suit the paint, wheels and trim. Tell us about matte paint, wraps, paint protection film, ceramic coatings or recent repainting before a method is agreed.

Electric and hybrid vehicles

Share the exact model and any manufacturer washing instructions. Charging ports, seals and electrical equipment need appropriate care. Vehicle-specific restrictions take priority over a standard wash routine.

Contact us to confirm a workshop slot in Al Quoz and any transport arrangement, including its cost.

Cabin cleaning

Interior detailing for seats and surfaces

Start with the surfaces that need attention. Fabric, coated leather, synthetic upholstery, screens and trim need different treatment. A clean cabin should also be dry enough for comfortable use.

  • Seats, carpets and mats
Vacuuming and suitable spot treatment or extraction. Agree the seats and carpet areas included, rather than assuming every surface is shampooed.
  • Dashboard, doors and glass
Suitable cleaning of accessible trim, cabin glass and touch points. Products and moisture need to stay compatible with controls and electronics.
  • Roof lining, trunk and difficult areas
Confirm these individually. Fragile or sagging headliner material needs assessment before cleaning. Seat removal is not an automatic part of every detail.
A stain or odour may remain if the material is permanently marked or contamination sits below the surface. Recurring damp smells need the cause checked. Fragrance alone does not solve water entry or trapped moisture.

If a seat is torn, cracked or collapsed, cleaning will not restore its structure. See car seat and upholstery repair for those jobs, or roof lining repair when the covering is loose.

Exterior cleaning and paint finishing

The right exterior job depends on what is on the paint and what has happened to the finish. Agree the expected improvement before authorising polishing.

Cleaning and preparation

Wash away loose soil, then assess remaining deposits. Tar, bonded contamination and wheel staining need suitable products and methods for the material.

Glass, wheel finishes, plastics and bright trim are different surfaces. Tell us about damaged coatings or unusual finishes so the cleaning plan can account for them.

Polishing is not needed simply because the car is dusty. Existing wraps, film and protective treatments may call for maintenance care instead.

Polishing and protection

A light enhancement and a more involved correction have different labour requirements. Ask which panels and polishing stages are included and what defects are likely to remain.

Wax or sealant, ceramic coating and paint protection film are separate choices. Confirm the actual product, preparation, coverage and care requirements in the quote.

Deep scratches, stone chips, peeling coatings and damaged paint can need repair rather than another polish.

Before agreeing the result

Show the marks in ordinary light and mention repainting or previous correction. Assessment should separate removable deposits from finish damage, then establish a realistic outcome.

After the exterior work

Follow the chosen product’s instructions for washing and any curing period. Ask when the car can get wet and which cleaners are suitable. A coating does not remove the need for regular care.

Engine bay cleaning with the right method

Engine-bay detailing is a separate assessment. The car’s manufacturer instructions, equipment and condition determine whether cleaning is suitable and how it should be done.

Steam is not suitable for every vehicle. Some manufacturer instructions advise against steam cleaning. Ask us to confirm a permitted method for your exact vehicle before booking.
  • Assess before cleaning
Let the engine cool and identify electrical equipment, damaged seals, exposed components and any fluid leaks that need investigation.
  • Control moisture and access
Use a suitable approach for accessible surfaces, with the required protection and drying. Electric and hybrid equipment needs its own vehicle-specific precautions.
  • Keep cleaning separate from repairs
A clean engine bay does not repair oil leaks, overheating or a running fault. Mention warning lights or fresh fluid marks when discussing the booking.

Request a quote for the accessible areas, method and drying work. Avoid choosing an unrestricted pressure or steam wash solely because it is advertised as a universal service.

Cosmetic finishing

Exhaust-tip cleaning and polishing

Soot and road grime can make visible exhaust tips look neglected. This detailing addition treats the accessible outer tip and rim, with the car parked and the exhaust cool.

  • Check the material first
Stainless steel, chrome, painted, coated and carbon-fibre trims need compatible treatment. Not every finish should be polished to a high shine.
  • Agree the quantity and condition
Tell us how many tips need cleaning. Pitting, damaged coatings or corrosion can limit the cosmetic result and may need a separate solution.
  • Confirm what is included
Visible tip cleaning does not mean internal exhaust, catalytic converter or particulate-filter cleaning. Dismantling and mechanical work are separate.

Cosmetic polishing is not a fuel-economy or power upgrade. If the car has exhaust noise, smoke, a leak or a warning light, describe that fault before booking a detail.

Agree the work before it starts

Tell us what bothers you most and whether you want a routine refresh or a more involved clean. We can then discuss the work that fits your car.

01

Show the condition

Send the model, year and clear photos of the areas. Remove personal belongings and mention stains, pet hair, dampness, wraps or coatings.

02

Confirm the quote

Agree each area, the cleaning or polishing level, extras and VAT. Confirm appointment availability before travelling to Al Quoz.

03

Allow enough time

Cleaning, polishing, drying and product curing affect collection. Confirm an estimate for the agreed work rather than relying on a universal completion time.

04

Review and care

Check the agreed areas and any marks that remain. Ask for drying and aftercare instructions, including when to wash a newly treated exterior.

No extra treatment should be assumed from a package name. Ask for any change in work or price to be explained before approving it.

Before you book

Your detailing questions answered

What to expect from the service and what to confirm for your car.

How much does car detailing cost in Dubai?

The published VAT-inclusive planning examples above are AED 299–499 per sedan for interior detailing, AED 349–449 for exterior detailing and AED 499–699 for a combined service. They are another provider’s published examples, not fixed Mechanics prices. Your vehicle size, condition, areas and finishing work determine the quote.

Can I book just a car wash?

Yes, ask about a maintenance wash rather than a full detail. Confirm whether you need exterior washing only or a wash with cabin vacuuming and wipe-down. Shampoo, stain treatment and polishing are different work and should be listed separately.

Will a full detail remove every stain and scratch?

No. Material damage, dye transfer, old stains and contamination beneath the surface can limit cleaning. Deep scratches, chips and damaged coatings may require repair rather than polishing. Agree the likely result after assessment.

Is steam engine bay cleaning safe for my car?

It depends on the exact vehicle and its manufacturer instructions. Some instructions advise against steam cleaning. Confirm a suitable method, protected components and drying before agreeing the work. Do not assume that a steam service is appropriate for every engine bay.

Does exhaust-tip polishing clean the exhaust internally?

No. The detailing addition covers the accessible outside of the visible tip and rim. Internal exhaust cleaning, catalytic converter or particulate-filter work and mechanical faults need separate assessment. Cosmetic polishing does not promise better fuel economy or power.

How long will the car need to stay?

A maintenance wash takes less work than a deep interior clean or multi-stage exterior treatment, but the collection time depends on the actual job and workshop availability. Drying and any product curing can extend the visit. Ask for the expected timing before confirming the booking.

Is ceramic coating included in a full detail?

Only if your quote specifically includes it. Interior cleaning and exterior polishing do not automatically include a ceramic coating or paint protection film. Confirm the product, preparation, treated areas, care instructions and any stated warranty conditions.

Do you offer mobile detailing or collection?

Ask about a workshop slot at Mechanics in Al Quoz. Confirm whether doorstep work or collection is available for your booking, together with timing and any charge.
